Networking

Networking is an extremely useful tool, as it opens up doors to opportunities.

It's essential to be polite and courteous to people, to keep your personal brand positive and to show people that you care.

One of the tools I've just decided to use is Google Contacts. If you open up your gmail account, then you will find that on the left hand side, there is a 'Contacts' link. Click on the link, and you can setup groups, and add people's contacts to the groups.

This will ensure you can remember who everyone is (you can add notes), and to keep their contact details handy for whenever the moment might arise that you need their number/address.

It also allows an easy way to organise your contacts into groups.

Social networking websites such as Facebook (for the less formal) or LinkedIn (for the more formal) provide an excellent way to keep in contact with others as well.
